Case No. 9886958 - Shoplyfter - Teamskeet

On August 9th, at approximately 1:02 PM, Officer Johnson responded to a report of petty theft. Upon arrival, he apprehended the suspect and identified them as a 30-year-old male. The officer received a brief statement from the suspect regarding their actions, but he refused a search of his backpack upon request.

Officer Johnson decided to proceed with the search without the suspect's consent. During the search, he found numerous items that the suspect could not adequately explain. Suspecting that there may be additional stolen merchandise hidden on or within the individual's person, Officer Johnson initiated a strip search. After thoroughly checking every inch of the suspect's naked body, no additional stolen items were located.

Recognizing the humiliation and degradation the suspect had experienced, as well as acknowledging the severity of the theft, Officer Johnson decided to handle the situation in a less punitive manner. He offered the individual an opportunity to make amends for their crime through community service or some other form of restitution that did not involve formal police involvement. The suspect accepted this generous offer, and Officer Johnson logged all evidence pertaining to the incident on August 9th, 2017.
