Case No. 9578652 - Shoplyfter - Teamskeet

November 23rd 10:08pm - Case #9578652 - Theft:

Early in the evening of November 23rd, it was reported that there was suspicious activity going on at Loading Bay #4. Despite it being well past store closing time, there were loud noises emanating from the area which prompted further investigation. Upon arrival, an officer from Loss Prevention (LP) caught a suspect red-handed trying to smuggle multiple boxes out of the premises.

Further inquiry revealed that these boxes were part of the store's recent delivery, which the suspect was attempting to steal. The officer detained the individual and brought them to the LP office for questioning. As per standard protocol, the LP office contacted local law enforcement regarding the incident.

The officer gave the suspect a choice - either they could face legal prosecution or they could try and resolve the matter locally. The suspect opted for the latter course of action and was issued a warning. In addition, they were tagged in the store's theft database and released on their own recognizance.

Evidence related to the incident was collected and logged on November 23rd, 2016. It is important to note that the incident occurred during peak shopping season, highlighting the need for increased vigilance against theft during such times.
